Maple Fig & Raspberry French Toast TWIST
Some rolls taste like breakfast. Built on ultra-pillowy Japanese milk bread enriched with maple syrup and a tangzhong base, each roll is swirled with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, studded with fig jam and bursts of raspberry, and nestled over a caramelized maple-granola base that bakes into a praline-like crust on the bottom of every roll.
Before going into the oven, the whole pan gets a pour of warm spiced vanilla cream — cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, maple — that soaks into every layer as it bakes. The result is somewhere between a cinnamon roll and a sticky bun, with fruit tucked inside and crunch underneath.
